Wymott to tilt at RSA after Bangor win

Wymott is all set for a tilt at the RSA Chase after winning at Bangor today in the 2m 4 ½ f Novices Chase. The 8/13 Favourite made a couple of notable jumping errors and only managed to shake off the attentions of second placed Bouggler two fences from home but battled hard to pull clear, eventually scoring by 10 lengths.

Wymott was a Grade Two winner over hurdles last season and is unbeaten so far in novice chases this season; he was trimmed into 12/1 from 14’s for the RSA with most bookies but 14/1 is still available with totesport, SkyBet and Stan James. After today’s victory. Trainer Donald McCain is almost certain that it will be the RSA rather than the Jewson that we see Wymott line up in at Cheltenham. Owner Trevor Hemmings was victorious in the 2008 RSA with the Jonjo O’Neill trained Albertas Run.
