Tataniano to take Queen Mother Champion Chase

Back Tataniano for the Queen Mother Champion Chase before he runs in the Tingle Creek at Sandown on Saturday. Paul Nicholls has won the 2 mile race which determines the Champion Chaser on 3 occasions since his first win in 1999 with Call Equiname and with Tataniano he can make it 4.

Tataniano was a top novice in 2009/10 where he gained the crucial Cheltenham form I look for with a win in the Independent Novices Chase at the Paddy Power meeting. Last season there were no fireworks and he only ran twice. However, he was most impressive on his return at Chepstow winning a 2m 1/2 furlong handicap chase with ease on his first run for 6 months. He jumped fluently apart from one mistake, travelled nicely and dominated his field which is his style of running.

There is no outstanding candidate in this race and as yet there appears to be no horse that is likely to improve to challenge the more obvious contenders.

I can see Tataniano ‘doing an Edredon Bleu’ on 14 March 2012 and leading them a merry dance around Prestbury Park. Take the 16/1 with JPFestival.com’s betting partner Paddy Power.

Tataniano – Champion Chase – 1 point ew with Paddy Power at 16/1.
