Our friends at Horsey Hotties launch social networking app for horse racing enthusiasts

Social networking for horseracing fans and equestrian enthusiasts has taken a leap in to the mobile app market courtesy of one young female entrepreneur with a passion for horseracing, equestrianism and connecting like minded people.

Ginny Rose who works for the Charity Racing Welfare as part of the fundraising team, also founded and launched the equestrian online dating website HorseyHotties.com in 2009 and sponsors female flat Jockey Laura Pike. Ginny hopes the HorseyHotties iPhone app will take the brand beyond online dating and fully in to the world of social networking.

Ginny outlined how the app works, “Our HorseyHotties app is the first of its kind location based social network solely for the equestrian community. The app uses the GPS in your smart phone to determine your location. Therefore where ever you are in the world the closest ‘HorseyHotties’ to your immediate location will be visible to you. For example if you are at the races, or any equestrian event such as Badminton, Olympia or the polo you would be able to see who is closest to you and find out a little bit of information about that person and their particular equestrian interests as well as basic information that the user chooses to share on their profile. The app affectively enables users to strike up a real time conversion with someone who could only be twenty metres away but you may never have spoken to in that particular setting before. Equally the closest ‘HorseyHottie’ may be hundreds of miles away, particularly in very rural locations. The app works solely on the closest people to your location irrelevant of distance.”

The HorseyHotties app is free to download with an additional ‘in app’ monthly subscription option to access premium features such as who’s viewed you, unlimited favourites and messaging, posting more images and connect to your own Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn profile.

You can download the HorseyHotties app from the App Store and is currently available on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, with an Android version in development due to be released middle of 2012.
