Celestial earns Halo

In a fantastic finish to today’s big race, the Champion Hurlde, my pick Celestial Halo lost out by a neck. We managed to get the favourite Binocular beaten as expected but not his stablemate Punjabi who claimed a shock victory at 22/1.

In the Arkle ,Original was very disappointing and gave us no race at all. He was pulled up after only a quarter of the race was completed. No explanation has yet come to light and I was expecting much better.
On my recommended stakes of 1 point each way at Celestial Halo’s advised price of 12/1 (started at 17/2), we go into Day 2 with a profit of 1 point.
I had no interest in the race but what a performance by Tony McCoy to bully, lift and cajole Wichita Lineman across the line in first place. Magnificent stuff from the man who never gives up to get the favourite home.
Tomorrow we have What A Friend in the 2.40pm and Big Zeb in the 3.20pm. The going at 5.00pm today remains good to soft (soft in places), which will suit both horses.
