For so long, this year’s Arc (3.05 British Time, Chantilly) had been about one three-year-old filly. And then Winter came. The confirmation of Winter, one of two star three year olds in Europe this season, gives a special edge to the race as she now does take on Enable in a 18 runner field this Sunday.
Pre-race attention revolves around these two, who one could claim are the best horses in the race – but there are reasons to take both on. Enable’s season has been a brilliant one, with her Oaks treble superseded by her fantastic win in the King George, where she trashed the Eclipse winner Ulysses, who re-opposes here……
