Cue Card (9lb clear on Timeform) has had a racecourse gallop with Theatre Guide, who dead-heated in the Graduation chase at Kempton Park on Monday. Mr Tizzard reported, “A lot of my horses have been needing the run this season, but I don’t think he will.” Last year he slipped when reaching for the fourth fence where his rider briefly lost his irons. Still managed third and bolted up in 2012. Somersby runs for an in-form stable. However, he finds himself 9lb worse off with Cue Card compared to the corresponding race last year. Hinterland goes well fresh and is arguably best going right-handed, possibly at Sandown Park. Bled at Aintree when disappointing. Slight question mark over the undulating track for Balder Succes. He does however possesses an excellent time figure for his novice season. God’s Own needed to improve to reverse form with Balder Succes when sent to Punchestown in May. He achieved that in good style with Mr King’s horse (now 7lb worse off) running 3/4lb below his best in third. God’s Own had recent impressive winner Moscow Mannon in second at Punchestown. Just a chance God’s Own was the freshest horse having missed Cheltenham and Aintree. He goes well fresh and best going right-handed.
